The rhino who thinks
outside the box
I created a logo that represents me and my work style. The open frame represents both the structure and the freedom I need. I'm highly motivated to complete well-defined projects, but I need room to maneuver and use my creativity.
The blue color represents the English expression “Sky is the limit”. The rhinoceros is reputed to be a go-getter. My friends would say the same about me. I'm not afraid to try new things, and I'm constantly learning. The head is outside the frame to emphasize my original ideas, fresh perspectives and innovative approaches. The animal faces to the right, so that its horn recalls an exponential curve illustrating the constant progression of my personal development. Finally, the network of triangles has a dual representation: it illustrates my strength in forging links and networking, and nods to my basic training in geomatics, where digital terrain models are particularly important.
My academic background
I'm currently doing my second semester at the master's level in educational technology. I'm a teacher by profession in geomatics technology at Cégep Limoilou. It was the last seven years at cegep that pushed me into this field. I graduated in geomatics sciences to become a land surveyor. Then I went on to do a master's degree with a thesis in legal land surveying. I then worked for three years in Quebec City as a land surveyor before accepting a teaching position in geomatics at Cégep Limoilou. I had the opportunity to create pedagogical content on digital platforms, analyze training needs, teach young people and adults at both technical and continuing education levels, and participate in a community of practice. I realized that these experiences, related to my role as a teacher, and the work involved in achieving these goals, gave me even more satisfaction than teaching geomatics.
